Harvey H. Baker, Sr., 95, of Decatur, IL, passed away Saturday, August 3, 2019, at Imboden Creek Living Center, Decatur, IL. Memorial services will be 1:30 p.m., Sunday, August 11, 2019, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, with visitation one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Macon County Memorial Park, Harristown, IL. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society or Shriner’s Hospital for Children. Harvey was born July 26, 1924 in Oakley, IL, the son of Jesse Dewey, Sr. and Lucille (Warmoth) Baker. He married Patricia Marie Foster on February 3, 1945 in Norwich, England. She preceded him in death on September 21, 1990. Harvey worked at Staley’s for 38 years, retiring in 1985. He did plumbing and welding as a side business. Harvey was a U.S. Army/Air Force veteran, member of V.F.W. and the American Legion. Harvey is survived by his children Patricia M. Baker of Springfield, IL, Harvey H. Baker, Jr. and wife Cindy of Decatur, Michele M. Nelson and husband Bill of Decatur; 7 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild; siblings Joann, Lucille, Eileen, Betty, Mary, and Tom. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two sisters, and five brothers. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff and Jodie Hall at Imboden for all of the care given to Harvey.
