Harry S. Johnston, 89, of Decatur, died Thursday, April 26, 2012, at Decatur Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Monday, April 30, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home. Visitation will be 4-7 P.M. Sunday, April 29, at the funeral home. Burial will be 2:00 P.M., Monday, April 30, in Camp Butler National Cemetery, Riverton, IL, with military honors. Memorials may be made to Christ United Methodist Church, Decatur, IL or to the donor's choice. Mr. Johnston was born January 19, 1923, in Minneapolis, MN, the son of Harry A. and Marion (Simmons) Johnston. He married Betty J. Blankenship April 6, 1944, in Barnesville, MN. Mr. Johnston worked as a corporate cashier at ADM for 40 years, retiring in 1988. He was a member of the Decatur Chordsmen, his quartet "4-Crying Out Loud," the Minneapolis Men's Apollo Club, Kiwanis International, where he was past Lieutenant Governor, and Christ United Methodist Church. Mr. Johnston played Santa Clause for many years, sang in the church choir, and was also an avid Chicago Cubs fan. He is survived by his wife Betty of Decatur; son Dr. Kevin Johnston of Decatur; daughter Karen (Bill) Prescher of Chillicothe, IL; brother Robert Johnston of Minneapolis, MN, five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister Lois Wallace. "
