Harriett Stogsdill

Harriett L. Stogsdill, 86, of Decatur, IL, passed away at 2:45 p.m. Wednesday, October 1, 2014, at St. Mary's Hospital. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Monday, October 6, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, with visitation 5-8 p.m. Sunday, October 5, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Decatur, IL. Memorials may be made to Glad Tidings Assembly of God. Harriett was born November 22, 1927, in Oreana, IL, the daughter of Harry and Gladys (Durham) Tussing. She married Evert Melvin "Mike" Stogsdill on June 2, 1945. He preceded her in death on August 17, 2006. Harriett was a member of Glad Tidings Assembly of God, Women's Bowling Association, and ABWA - Soya Chapter. She retired after 40 years of service in the insurance field. Surviving are her son: Micheal Stogsdill of Maroa, IL, daughters: Sandra O'Brien and husband John of Sullivan, IL, Carol Mattingly of Decatur, IL, and Brenda Gleespen and husband Bill of Tolono, IL. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter; sister Sharen Carlson of Decatur, IL. Harriett was preceded in death by her parents, husband Mike, one great-granddaughter Morgan, brother Orville Tussing and sisters Vera Babcock and Lenore Boyd. The family would like to thank Dr. Qureshi, Dr. Fritz and the staff at St. Mary's Hospital. "
