Harriett Houk

Harriett L. Houk, 91, of Decatur, IL, passed away Friday, November 18, 2016, at McKinley Court Nursing Home, Decatur, IL. Private family graveside services will be held in Camp Butler National Cemetery, Springfield, IL. Memorials may be made to First Lutheran Church, Decatur, IL. Harriett was born May 13, 1925 in Nokomis, IL, the daughter of Harrison and Ruth (Wilson) Plunk. She married Robert L. Houk on January 24, 1948 in Decatur, IL and he preceded her in death on February 22, 2002. Harriett was a member of First Lutheran Church. She worked for A.E. Staley Company for 43 years, retiring in 1985. She is survived by her son Gary Michael (Jennie) Houk of Decatur; grandchildren Jody (Greg) Giberson of Decatur, Robert D. (Liz) Houk of Bement; and 8 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert, and sister Mary Lou Havener. The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to McKinley Court for the care and compassion given to Harriett. "
