Harriet Eva Crawford, 87, of Seffner, Florida, formerly of Decatur, died Sunday, June 10, 2018, at Superior Residences, Brandon, Florida.Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Friday, June 15, at Sunnyside Road Church of Christ. Visitation will be 6-8 P.M. Thursday, June 14, at the church. Burial will be at 2:30 P.M. Friday in Asbury Cemetery, Raymond, IL. Friday. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home is assisting the family. Memorials may be made to Shults-Lewis Children’s Home or Superior Residences of Brandon for Harriet’s Drum Magic, a music therapy program. Harriet was born July 22, 1930, in Raymond, IL, the daughter of Joseph Elmer and Cleo (Bishop) Carriker. She married William E. Crawford in Raymond, IL on June 15, 1957. He preceded her in death May 15, 2014. The first of her siblings to obtain a four year degree, Harriet earned a Bachelor’s degree from Eastern Illinois University, then taught in the Argenta and Decatur school systems. She later became a beautician and owned her own in home beauty shop. She also worked for American Greetings and Hallmark. Harriet was a member of Sunnyside Road Church of Christ, and a Sunday school teacher for over 40 years. She will be remembered for her hospitality and service to others. Harriet is survived by her son, Mark Crawford (Jennifer) of Nashville, TN; daughter, Melissa Jackson (Tony) of Seffner, FL; grandson, Collin; brother, William “Bill” Carriker of Carlinville; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Alberta, Joe, Charlie, Myrtle, Phil, Elmer, Baby Rachel, and Kenny. "
