Harold (Roy) L. White, 94, of Decatur, IL, passed away Saturday, May 6, 2017, at his home.Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 10, 2017, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, with visitation one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Macon County Memorial Park, Harristown, IL, with military rites conducted by the Macon County Honor Guard. Memorials may be made to Central Baptist Church.Harold was born January 3, 1923, in Mattoon, IL, the son of Benjamin Leroy and Etta (Tarrent) White. He married Kay Brooks and to that union 4 sons were born. He later married Marilyn Hoff-Miller on September 1, 1969 in Decatur, IL.Harold was a member of Central Baptist Church. He retired from Caterpillar as a Foreman Supervisor after 32 years of service. Harold loved gardening and being outdoors, playing cards with friends on Friday nights, enjoyed traveling, and loved family get-togethers. He always said “The way to keep young is to stay around young people”. Harold was a proud WWII U.S. Marine veteran and felt privileged to travel to Washington, D.C. with the Honor Flight. He was a member of the Decatur Chordsmen Barbershop Quartet.He is survived by his wife Marilyn of 47 years; sons Michael (Patty) White of Orange Park, FL, Timothy (Lynette) White of Maroa, David (Gina) White of Lyman, SC, Steven (Leanna) White of Hendersonville, TN; stepchildren Toni (John) Toland of Decatur, Tina (Kevin) Payne of Decatur, David (Arlene) Miller of Edwardsville, Doug (Kim) Miller of Forsyth, Merry (Mike) Scott of Missouri, Derek Miller of Cerro Gordo; 40 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren; sisters Henrietta Lingafelter of Willow Hill, IL, Betty King of Robinson, IL.He was preceded in death by his parents, stepson Darren Miller, sisters Dorothy, Letha, Roseabell, brother Floyd, 4 half brothers, 1 half sister.
