Harold Eugene "Gene" Peer, 91, of Decatur, died Sunday, April 14, 2013, at Sunshine Haven, Olmito, TX. Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Monday, April 22, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home. Visitation will be 4-6 P.M. Sunday, April 21, at the funeral home, with masonic rites at 3:45 P.M. Burial will be in Sandcreek Cemetery, Windsor, IL. Memorials may be made to Sunshine Haven, 7105 Lakeside Blvd., Olmito, TX or to St. Jude. Gene was born April 10, 1922, the son of David Nathan and Dora Bernice (Booker) Peer. He married Wavia Lucille Bower in 1942. She preceded him in death in 1970. He married his second wife Lavonne in 1974. She preceded him in death in December 1989. He then married Betty Price on July 28, 1995. Gene worked as a foreman in the pattern making division at Mueller Company for more than 30 years. He retired in 1982. He enjoyed making wood carvings, especially of ducks and geese. Gene loved fishing and vacationing in Brownsville, TX. He was a member of Glad Tidings and Christ Church of the Valley in Brownsville, TX. He was also a 50 year member and past master of Stephen Decatur Masonic Lodge. He is survived by his wife Betty of Decatur; son David M. Peer of Decatur; daughter Cheryl McMullen (Ed) of Mesa, AZ; daughter Wendy Carter (Larry) of Oklahoma City, OK; daughter Cathy Cooper (Thomas) of Oklahoma City, OK; daughter Joan Wheatman (Dan) of Mahomet, IL; daughter Jane Rider of Oklahoma City, OK; son Butch Tull (Connie) of Decatur; daughter Julie Ware (Rick) of Lincoln, IL; son Marty Robazek (Paula) of WI; sister Helen Williams of Decatur; brother Donald Peer (Carol) Florida; brother Thomas Peer (Jenny) of Decatur; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Wavia, second wife Lavonne, daughter, Kitty Evans, brother Bob, and sister Shirley. "
