Harold Harris

Harold Jay Harris, 47, of Charleston, IL, passed away on Monday, September 22, 2014, at Carle Foundation Hospital, surrounded by his loved ones. Memorial visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m., Friday, September 26, 2014, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL. Cremation rites will be accorded at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Leukemia and Lymphoma Research Foundation. Harold was born January 25, 1967 in Decatur, IL, the son of Dr. Jake J. Harris and Charlotte Darlene (Echols) Harris. He graduated from Eastern Illinois University with a Bachelor's degree and then obtained his Master's degree while serving as Lieutenant of the EIU police department, and taking on many other roles on the police force. Harold is survived by fiancée Kelli Davis, son Jeremy Harris, daughter Breanna Harris, grandchildren Braylon and Korbyn, parents Dr. Jake Harris (Linda) and Charlotte Harris, brother Darrell Harris (Carmela Harris), niece Tara Harris (goddaughter), nieces Jordan and Cori Harris, sister Jill (Harris) Bonwell (Jay Bonwell), nephew Sean Bonwell, great niece Emma, nephew Kenneth Bonwell, niece Jessica Bonwell, great niece Jaeda, brother Dr. KeVan B. Harris (Kari Harris), nephew Justyn Perry, niece Morgyn Perry, nephew KeVan Breneen Bing Harris, honorary member of the family Ann Gilmore, also a host of other friends and relatives. Harold Harris will always be remembered and missed by his family, friends, and the EIU community. "
