Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M., Monday, March 10, 2008, at Brintlinger & Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, with visitation one hour prior to service time. Burial will be in Camp Butler National Cemetery, Riverton, IL, with military rites.David was born June 2, 1935, the son of James Lew and Edna (Fleming) Atkins. He was a U.S. Army veteran. David previously worked at Staleys and was a self employed painter.He is survived by his brothers and sisters Mary Perry and husband Robert of Mechanicsville, MD, Pat Wisley of Decatur, IL, Betty Songer and husband Jerry of Cerro Gordo, IL, Janet Boys of Decatur, IL, Edward Atkins and wife Martha of Dalton City, IL, Tom Atkins and wife Mary Lou of Maroa, IL; 18 nieces and 16 nephews and many great nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Harry and James Eugene, sister Dorothy Harminson.Davy Cool up in Heaven we know you will be.
