Hansel L. Petty, 86, of Decatur, IL, passed away Monday, December 26, 2016, at McKinley Court Care Center, Decatur, IL.Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, December 30, 2016, at Cowden Mound Cemetery, Cowden, IL, with visitation 9 am to 11 am, Friday, December 30 at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL.Hansel was born July 1, 1930, in Cowden, IL, the son of William and Clara (Riley) Petty. He married Louella B. (Black) Petty on August 1, 1950 in Cowden, IL. She preceded him in death in September 2003.Hansel worked for Caterpillar Tractor Co. and was a U.S. Air Force veteran.He is survived by his daughters Cheryl S. (Kris) Oglesby of Decatur, IL, Cindy (David) Peckert of Oakley, IL; grandchildren Kristen (Robert) Danner of Decatur, IL, Casey Messenger of Peoria, IL, Trent and Troy (Hollie) Peckert, both of Decatur, IL; great grandchildren Coy Simmons, Brody Danner, Rylie Danner, Grayson and Callison Messenger, Trey and Louella Peckert.He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Louella, two sisters and one brother.
