Guylene Emert, 73, of Shelbyville, passed away peacefully in her home on December 11, 2024, surrounded by her family.

A Memorial Service will be 2:00 PM, Sunday, January 12, 2025 at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur.  A memorial visitation will be 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM, Sunday at the funeral home.

Guylene was born December 6, 1951, in Mattoon, IL, the daughter of Edward Guy and Barbara Allyn (Roberts) Allison.  She married Charles Emert on September 11, 1970. He preceded her in death on July 22, 2023.  Guylene worked for many years at ADM in the cafeteria in the Corporate Office and Lakeview facility.  Later, she worked for Shelbyville Manor until her retirement. Guylene was very talented and enjoyed helping her husband with their salvage yard and property businesses. She was always the hostess for family meals and dinners and enjoyed family get-togethers.  Guylene and Charles loved traveling out West with the grandkids, camping, fishing and boating.  She was a talented gardener and loved planting and growing flowers.  Guylene also enjoyed sewing and crocheting. Later, she and Charles enjoyed getting antiques and restoring and refurbishing them to sell in their booth in Sullivan.  Most of all, Guylene enjoyed time spent with her family.

Surviving are her daughters: Kimberly Emert (Troy Allen) of Niantic and Brandi Linville of Windsor; grandchildren: Mason (Marissa) Novak and Samantha Emert; great-grandchildren: Zoe, Eli, and Asher Emert and Cecylia Novak;

Guylene was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles; grandson, Zackery Emert; and a half sister, Marie.
