Gordan Dean (Bob) (Red) Niemann, 88, of Decatur, died at Decatur Memorial Hospital, Wednesday, October 19, 2011. Graveside service will be 10:00 AM Friday October 21, 2011 at Macon County Memorial Park, Harristown, IL No visitation, Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home Decatur, IL handling arrangements. Memorials: Holy Family Catholic Church Gordan was born May 2, 1923, in Arenzville, IL, the son of, Oscar F. And Ruth (Wood) Niemann. He married Dorothy Elaine Mathias on September 3, 1955. Gordan served in the US Navy during WW II. He was later employed at Caterpillar Tractor Company and worked in Material Control. Gordan was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. Surviving are his daughter Joni Elaine ( Gary) Walmsley of Decatur, and two grandchildren Stefanie Walmsley of Decatur, and Michael Walmsley (U.S. Marine Corp- stationed in San Diego, CA), one sister Joan (Gene) Delaney of Jacksonville, IL Gordan was preceded in death by his parents, wife-Doris, step-son-Dave Hartline, one brother Arthur.
