Bowrey, 91, of Decatur, formerly of Cerro Gordo, IL, died Friday, August 5, 2011, at Lincoln Manor Nursing Home, Decatur, IL. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM, Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Cerro Gordo. Visitation will be noon til 1:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Cerro Gordo Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Lincoln Manor Nursing Home. Goldie was born September 12, 1919, in Cerro Gordo, IL, the daughter of John and Della (Hoyle) Sites. She married Lloyd M. Bowrey in May of 1940. He preceded her in death in February, 1993. Goldie was a member of First Church of God in Decatur, IL. She loved cardinal birds, knitting and crocheting. She is survived by her children Betty Bailey and husband Larry of Cerro Gordo, IL; Steve Bowrey and wife Leanne of Cerro Gordo, IL, Terry Bowrey and wife Donna of Decatur, IL; 7 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren; sister Helen McDonald of Cerro Gordo, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Lloyd, son John Bowrey, two brothers and one sister. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, will be handling the arrangements.
