Glen Giles

Glen Daniel (Danny) Giles, 71, of Decatur, IL, passed away 7:40 a.m., June 3, 2015 at Symphony of Decatur. Graveside services will be 11:30 a.m., Monday, June 8, 2015 at North Fork Cemetery, Decatur, IL. Visitation will be 10:00 - 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 8, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL. Memorials may be made to DMH Hospice or Alzheimer's Association. Danny was born July 10, 1943 in Forks, WA, the son of Glen H. and Esther Giles. He graduated from Lakeview High School in 1961. Danny married Nancy (Ware) Giles in 1964. They were married for 25 years and had 2 children, Angela Fair and Gregory Giles. Danny was a proud and superior lineman who worked for Illinois Power Company (Ameren) for 41 years. He retired in 2005 and enjoyed his retirement traveling and attending sporting events. Danny was a die-hard Cub fan all of his life. He is survived by his daughter Angela (Rick) Fair and son Gregory (Lorena) Giles; grandchildren David Fair, Dillon Fair, Ryan Giles, Adam Giles; and long time companion Debbie Smallwood. He was preceded in death by his mother and father. The family would like to give special thanks to the nursing home staff on the 5th floor at Symphony for their care and compassion given to Danny. "
