Gladys Opal Brown, 100, of Decatur, IL, died Tuesday, November 9, 2010, at Fair Havens Christian Home, Decatur, IL.Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M., Thursday, November 11, 2010, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, with visitation 5 to 8 P.M., Wednesday, November 10, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Cerro Gordo Cemetery, Cerro Gordo, Illinois. Memorials may be made to Kingdom Hall of Jehovahs Witnesses or to Fair Havens Christian Home.Opal was born May 19, 1910, in LaPlace, IL, the daughter of Otto and Grace (Replogle) Brown. She married James Victor Vic Brown on September 11, 1930 in Decatur, IL. He preceded her in death in 1989.Opal was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovahs Witnesses. She was a wonderful, loving mother and grandmother and a skilled seamstress. Opal was happiest when she was with her grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter Laura Brown and husband Ron of Decatur, IL; grandchildren Matt Blickensderfer of Cincinnati, OH, Drew Blickensderfer and wife Candice of Terrell, NC, Lynne Durham of Cerro Gordo, IL, Elaine Fruhling and husband Mitch of St. Joseph, IL, Lisa Hammac and husband Ron of Lewisville, NC, Tammy Jo Dawson and husband Doug of Branson, MO, Kevin Flach of Texas; 3 step-grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Vic, daughter Vicki Alexander, 4 sisters and 3 brothers, a granddaughter: Holly, and a grandson, Silas.The family would like to thank Dr. Dan Smith and his staff and the caring staff at Fair Havens Christian Home.
