Funeral service will be 1:00 PM Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL and visitation will be from 11:00 AM until service time at the funeral home. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery, Decatur, ILMemorials: American Cancer Society or Decatur Memorial Hospice.She was born August 3, 1917 in Decatur, IL the daughter of Leroy and Sally (Spitzer) Shinneman. Gertrude was a member of Christ Methodist Church and was a homemaker. She was a quilter, active in the PTA at Oak Grove School, and a member of the church choir at EUB, Gertrude was married to James W. Spawr, and Junior Dude Barding, both preceded her in death.Surviving: brothers Harold Shinneman (Thelma) of Lake Haraus, AZ and Dale Shinneman (Pat) of Baldwin Park, CA. Children: Constance (Jim) Downing Champaign, IL; Junior L. (Gina) of OFallon, MO; James W. (Karen) Spawr, of Decatur, IL ; daughter Sandy Kistner of Decatur, IL and son-in-law William Beeman of Florida. She has thirteen grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren. Gertrude was preceded in death by parents, both spouses, brother Ralph Shinneman, grandson Craig Barding and daughter Betty Beeman. "
