Geraldine Ballard

Geraldine June Ballard, 91, of Decatur, passed away on Saturday (03-10-2012) at 11:10 P.M. at McKinley Court Nursing Home. Memorial services will be held on Thursday (03-15-2012) at 11:00 A.M. at Pilgrim Lutheran Church, Decatur, IL., with visitation one hour prior to service time. Burial will be at Macon County Memorial Park, Harristown. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home are handling the arrangements. Memorials may be made to Pilgrim Lutheran Church. Geraldine was born in Cowden, IL. on November 5, 1920, the daughter of McKinley Samuel Carr and Ruby (Askins) Carr. She married Thomas Wilmont Ballard on October 18, 1939. He preceded her in death on August 11, 1999. Mrs. Ballard was retired after working at Family Drug for several years. She was a member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church. She is survived by her children: Leilani Mierek and husband Stan of Forsyth, IL., Judith Dillman and husband Thom of Bradenton, FL., Thomas (Tony) A. Ballard and wife Linda of Barrington, IL., and Mark S. Ballard of Champaign, IL.; brothers and sisters: Doris Potter, Margaret Ellis, Sue Cearlock, all of Decatur, IL., Gerald Carr of Forsyth, IL. and Lyle Carr of Decatur, IL.; seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and two sisters. Our family would like to thank the staff, nurses, and C.N.A.'s at McKinley Court, for their love, kindness, and care shown to our mother. "
