Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M., Friday, July 31, 2009, at St. Rose Catholic Church, Strawn, IL. Burial will be in St. Rose Cemetery, Strawn, IL. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, will be handling the arrangements.Memorials may be made to Hospice of Ionia in Michigan or St. Patrick Catholic Church, Decatur, IL.Gerald was born July 27, 1927, in Strawn, IL, the son of Edward and Elizabeth (Sommers) Lynch. He volunteered at the Good Samaritan Inn. Jerry was a loyal Cubs fan. Gerald was a very kindhearted man. He loved spending time with family, and would do anything to help them and others.He is survived by nieces and nephews Michael & Tom Lorig, Joan Blyth, Jerry, Patrick, Billy Joe, Tommy, Francie, Johnny, Mickey, and Carmen Lynch, Toni Huette, Jane Lange, Jill Menachor, Candy Miller, and Elizabeth Hale; several great nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers and 3 sisters.The family would like to give special thanks to Joan Blyth and Hospice of Ionia for their care and compassion.Condolences may be left to the family at www.brintlingerandearl.com.
