Gerald Hiser

Gerald H. Hiser, 101, of Forsyth, died Sunday, June 4, 2017, in Decatur Memorial Hospital.Visitation will be 10-11 A.M. Thursday, June 8, 2017, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, with graveside services following at Friends Creek Cemetery, Argenta. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the ALS Association.Gerald was born July 27, 1915, in Oakley, IL, the son of Homer E. and Sylvia E. (Strong) Hiser. He married Juetta E. Schroll December 12, 1937, in Forsyth, IL. She preceded him in death. Gerald was a farmer in Forsyth and later in Cisco. He loved camping, fishing, and was a Jeff Gordon fan. He also liked to travel and wintered in Florida. Gerald was a member of Cisco United Methodist Church, and was a Cisco Cooperative Grain Company board member.Gerald is survived by his son Loren Hiser and wife Melinda of Oreana; granddaughters Tami Hiser of Decatur and Nancy Eller and husband Michael of Oreana; great grandchildren Gage and Madyson Eller of Oreana.He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and one sister.
