Gerald Warren Helm, 74 of Cerro Gordo, IL passed away at 4:20 a.m. on Saturday, September 30th, 2017 at Hillsboro Rehabilitation & Health Care Center in Hillsboro, ILA memorial service to honor and celebrate Warren’s life will be held at 12 p.m on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at the Brethren Church in Cerro Gordo, IL. The family will receive friends for a time from 10 a.m until service time. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Cerro Gordo, is assisting the family. Warren’s body will be donated to science in the hopes that they will come closer to a cure for Alzheimer’s and Dementia. Memorial’s may be directed to Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N. He married Kathleen (Katie) I Miller on December 3, 1960. Warren retired from trucking after 44 years in January 2008. Warren was on the Cerro Gordo Fire department for 45 years, an EMT and also a Trustee, a Scout Master for many years and President of the youth league for 3 years.Warren is survived by his wife: Kathleen (Katie) I Helm of Cerro Gordo, IL; daughter: Karen A. (Fred) Royer of Decatur, IN; son Gerald A. (Anita) Helm of Decatur, IL; daughter-in-law Joan M Helm of Oakley, IL; grandchildren: Kyle (Talia) Helm, Heath (Abby) Helm, Ashley (Jesse) Garza, Steven L (Autumn) Helm, Austin Helm, Nicholas (Cecilia) Helm, Justin (Ashley) Helm, Natalie Nicola Jones, Stephanie (Nick) Royer, Jenny Royer, Melissa (Shane) Hector, James Kitchens, Ben (Savannah) Kitchens and 25 great grandkids; brothers: Ray Helm of Decatur, IL, sisters: Alma Lee (Robert) Kreider of Indianapolis, IN, Ruthie (David) Roe of LaPlace, IL, Nancy Rion of Reeves, LA He was preceded in death by his parents; his son’s Steve and Richard Helm; two sisters Irene and Helen; two brothers Stan and Chuck.
