Gerald Grandon

Gerald T. “Jerry” Grandon, 92, of Warrensburg, passed away on Sunday, April 26, 2026.

Visitation will be on Thursday, April 30, 2026 from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home in Decatur, IL. Funeral service will be held 10:00 AM Friday, May 1, 2026 at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery. Memorials in Jerry’s honor may be made to the Warrensburg Fire Department.

Jerry was born on July 31, 1933 in Springfield, IL, the son of the late Jesse and Ruth (Turner) Grandon. He married Wenona Dickey on June 20, 1954.

Jerry served in the U.S. Marine Corp. He worked for Caterpillar for 40 years. He was a member of the Warrensburg Fire Dept for 50 years. After his retirement from Caterpillar, he served as President of the UAW 751 Retirees.

Jerry is survived by his wife Wenona Grandon of Warrensburg; 6 children, Jerry Grandon of Bloomington, IL, Dorothy Grandon of Des Moines, IA, Susie Grandon of St. Louis, MO, Bonni (husband Phil) Visor of Chicago, IL, Jason Grandon of Warrensburg, IL, and Jennifer Grandon of Evanston, IL; 7 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; and 1 sister Nancy Duffer of Decatur.

Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter Tracy Grandon; and his brothers, Bill, Jim, and Mike Grandon.
