Gerald Wayne England, 87, of Decatur, passed away at his home on Wednesday, June 24, 2026.
In accordance with his wishes, cremation rites will be arranged, and private family services will be held. He will be buried at Camp Butler National Cemetery. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Gerald was born April 21, 1939, in Decatur, the son of Esther Ruth (Morenz) England. He married Karen Bartels on July 2, 1970, in Macon County, and she survives.
He is also survived by his daughter, Lori (Brad) Chastain of Clarkesville, Georgia; son, Kevin (Susan) Dyhouse of Ohio; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brother, Phil (Terrie) England; and several nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother and his brother, Ron England.
Gerald proudly served in the United States Navy. He worked for more than 30 years at Caterpillar in Decatur as a forklift driver and machine operator before retiring. A member of the Early Idlers Street Rod Club, Gerald enjoyed attending car shows, rebuilding street rods, shooting pool, and working in his yard.
