George Wrighthouse

George Owen Wrighthouse, 88, of Cerro Gordo, IL, passed away Thursday, February 26, 2015, at Decatur Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 13, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, with visitation one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery, Decatur, IL. Memorials may be made to: Brethren Church of Cerro Gordo. George was born October 2, 1926, in Cerro Gordo, IL, the son of John and Mary (Snoke) Wrighthouse. He attended Cerro Gordo High School. George was a WWII veteran serving in the U.S. Army and was stationed in the Philippines. He married Norma Jean Swain on July 26, 1947 in Decatur. She preceded him in death on December 7, 2006. George's 45 year career involved farm equipment sales and management. Surviving are his daughter: Bonnie Hawkins and husband Jerry of Decatur; granddaughter: Tara Eggers and husband Matt of Lake Forest, IL; great-granddaughter: Campbell Eggers; great-grandsons: Cal and Finn Eggers; three nieces and one nephew. George was preceded in death by his parents, sister Jane Rutledge and grandson Todd Hawkins. "
