George Thompson

George H. Thompson, III passed away peacefully in his home January 3, 2015. Memorial services will be held 1:00 P.M. Monday, January 19, 2015, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home with visitation two hours prior to service time. Memorials may be made to the American Liver Foundation. George was born August 10, 1957, in San Luis Obispo, CA, the son of George and Roma (Lewis) Thompson, II. He married Erin Franklin November 4, 2006, in Bethlehem Presbyterian Church. George was a retired electrician. He was an avid pool player, and played in many tournaments in Las Vegas, finishing as high as 5th place! George also enjoyed little league baseball, the Chicago Cubs, and was a U of I fan. He attended Bethlehem Presbyterian Church, and was a member of the American Pool Association, American Cue Sports, Billiards Congress of America, and the Valley National 8-Ball Association. George is survived by his wife Erin of Decatur; mother Roma of Decatur; daughter Heather Briggs of Champaign; sisters Linda (John) Cambruzzi of Decatur, Debbie Davis of Decatur, Patricia Sarkis of Smithfield, N.S.W., Australia, and Thenda Thompson of Decatur; his pet cat "Missy", and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father. "
