George Corbett Taylor, 84, of Decatur, IL, died Monday, May 20, 2013, in his home. Funeral services will be 12:00 P.M. Saturday, May 25, 2013 at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL with visitation beginning at 10:00 A.M. until service time. Burial will be in Macon County Memorial Park, Harristown, IL. Memorials may be made to Mound Christian Church or American Red Cross. George was born July 13, 1928 in Dover, TN, the son of Grover Cleveland "Chill" Taylor and Dora Dean (Dennis) Taylor. He married Omega Gertrude Link on December 20, 1947 in Kentucky. George was a member of Mound Christian Church. He worked for Illinois Power as a welder, retiring after 35 years of service. George enjoyed gardening, painting, bowling, and especially spending time with his grandchildren. He was a volunteer for 15 years and painted every room at Fair Havens Christian Home. He is survived by his sons George Anthony "Tony" Taylor and wife Cathy of Tucson, AZ, Mark Taylor and wife Linda of Mahomet, IL, daughter Cheryl Hosier and husband William of Clinton, IL; grandchildren Anthony Taylor, Garett Hosier, Kate Appel and husband Clint, Wyatt Hosier, Brooklyn Finley and husband Jeffrey, Brittny Hanks and husband Matthew, Breanna Creek and husband Caleb; great grandchildren Stephen Bidga, Izaiah Prusser, Patrick Hosier, Aiden Hanks, Jenevieve Finley; sister June Heyer and husband Bill of Louisville, KY; brother Don Taylor and wife Jeanette of Champaign, IL; brother-in-law John Wesley Link of Spartanburg, SC. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Omega Gertrude, three brothers and three sisters. "
