George Johner

George F. Johner, 90, of Warrensburg, IL, passed away Thursday, January 18, 2018, at Hickory Point Christian Village, Forsyth, IL.Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 22, 2018, at Warrensburg United Methodist Church with visitation one hour prior to service time at the church. Burial will be in Illini Cemetery, Warrensburg, IL. Memorials may be made to Warrensburg United Methodist Church.George was born December 25, 1927, in Decatur, IL, the son of George Fredrick and Freida (Latal) Johner. He married Norma J. Schroeder on July 6, 1947 in Warrensburg, IL and she preceded him in death on January 6, 2015.George farmed all of his life in the Warrensburg area. He was a proud member of Warrensburg United Methodist Church, serving on the Building Committee for the new church building and was a Sunday school teacher. George was a Farm Bureau member, Chairman of the Prime Timers, member of Board of Directors for Farm Credit Services, and a member of Warrensburg Lion’s Club.He is survived by sons Randy (Diane) Johner of Forsyth, Mark (Shirley) Johner of Warrensburg; daughter-in-law Emily; grandchildren Andrew, Karyn, Lucas, Joel, Steve, Kevin, Brian, Alison; great grandchildren Kayla, Kraig, Kyle, Kolton, Haley, Ashley, William, Jackson; great granddaughter Mia; sister Elsa (Terry); sisters-in-law Arlene and Virginia (Oz).He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Norma, son Craig, daughter Debra; brother Carl; and sister Katherine.The family would like to give a special thank you to Suzy, Comfort Keepers, and the staff at Hickory Point Christian Village for the wonderful care they gave to George.
