George Albert

George L. Albert, 86, of Cerro Gordo, IL, passed away at home at 7:05pm on Saturday, June 22, 2019. Graveside services will be on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at 10:00am at Cerro Gordo Cemetery in Cerro Gordo, IL. Memorials may be given to the Cerro Gordo United Methodist Church. George was born on December 18, 1932 in Oakley, IL, the son of George Earl and Thelma (Barnett) Albert. He married Linda Lou Parton on March 11, 1972 in Cerro Gordo and she survives. George was a U.S. Army veteran. He worked as a laborer for A. E. Staley, retiring in 1994 after 41 years of service. George was a member of the Cerro Gordo United Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife, Linda of 47 years; children, Van Albert of Cerro Gordo, IL, and Ann R. (Andrew) Ellis of Decatur, IL; grandchildren; Blaize Albert, Boone and John Ellis; two brothers, Adrian Albert and Carrol Albert both of Oakley, IL; four sisters, Eleanor Nickey of Long Creek, IL, Betty Turner of Topeka, KS, Beverly Seitz and Sandy Brandenburg, both of Cerro Gordo, IL. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. George is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Dale, Corwin, and Bernard; and one sister Gloria Ruch. "
