Gene Deering

Gene B. "Geno" Deering, 74, of Decatur, IL, passed away at 9:48 a.m. Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at Symphony Nursing Home, Decatur. Private family services will be held Thursday, March 28, in Macon County Memorial Park Cemetery, Harristown, IL, with military rites conducted by the Macon County Honor Guard. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Homes, Decatur, are assisting the family with the arrangements. Geno was born May 3, 1938, in Bement, IL, the son of Charles and Eva (Price) Deering. He married Glenda Threlkeld on February 12, 1983. Geno was a U.S. Navy veteran and a member of Stephen Decatur Masonic Lodge 979 AF & AM. He was a retired truck driver. Surviving are his wife of 30 years, Glenda of Decatur; stepsons Dennis (Dawne) Stahulak of Assumption, IL, Rodney (Nami) Stahulak of Okinawa, and James D. Stahulak of Decatur, IL; grandchildren Shawn, Shane, Nicole, Emily, Melissa, Lili Stahulak and Ashton Boyer. Geno was preceded in death by his parents and brother Glenn. "
