Gary A. Rutherford, 59, of Decatur, IL, died Wednesday, August 14, 2013, at St. Mary's Hospital, Decatur, IL. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, August 17, 2013, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL with visitation 5 to 8 p.m., Friday, August 16, 2013, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery, Decatur, IL. Memorials may be made to Central Christian Church. Gary was born May 24, 1954 in Decatur, IL, the son of George William and Eleanor May (Owens) Rutherford. He married Penny Lynn Born on August 12, 1978 in Decatur, IL. Gary was an active member of Central Christian Church. He worked in maintenance for over twenty years at Federal Kemper Insurance, and later for Main Place Properties. Gary was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and was a fixer of many things. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Penny; sons Bryan A. Rutherford and wife Fran of Decatur, IL, Andrew B. Rutherford of Decatur, IL; grandchildren Emily, Brandon, Samuel, and Jensen; mother Eleanor May Rutherford of Decatur; brothers Wayne Rutherford and wife Donna of Decatur, Doug Rutherford and wife Sherri of Decatur, Craig Rutherford and wife Karen of Golden, CO, Roger Rutherford of Decatur; sister-in-law Alfreda Tribout and husband Charles of Decatur; and 10 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father. "
