Gary Brown

Gary D. Brown, 76, of Decatur, IL, went to Heaven March 16, 2018 at Barnes Hospital, St. Louis, MO. Services will be held Friday, March 23, 2018 at 11:00 am at Maranatha Assembly of God in Decatur with a visitation two hours prior. Burial will be in Hall Cemetery in Blue Mound, IL. Memorials may be given to the Brown Family Tree Fund made payable to Dixie Brown.Gary was born on November, 21, 1941 in Decatur, IL, the son of Harold Marshall and Mildred June (Bottrell) Brown. He married Dixie Lea Hinton on November 11, 1960 and she survives. Gary loved his work as a welder for 42 years being employed with Craftmasters, Micar, and TCR. He loved spending time with his family and was a man of many talents. Gary was a member of Maranatha Assembly of God where he helped provide security for the church.Gary is survived by his wife Dixie; sons, Rick (Angie) Brown of Blue Mound, IL, and Jim (Amy) Brown of Blue Mound, IL, and daughter, Becky (Brian) Strahle. Also surviving are brothers; Merle, Dennis, and Phillip and sisters; Judy, Kathy, and Marsha; 7 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.Gary is preceded in death by his parents, and brother, David.
