Gary Berg

Gary L. Berg, 67, of Decatur, IL, passed away 8:10 a.m., Wednesday, September 16, 2015, at his residence. Memorial services will be 12:00 noon, Saturday, September 19, 2015, at First Church of the Nazarene, Decatur, IL, with visitation one hour prior to service time at the church. Memorials may be made to First Church of the Nazarene "Cracked Pots Fellowship". Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, is handling the arrangements. Gary was born May 17, 1948 in Decatur, IL, the son of Floyd and Lois (Jordan) Berg. He married Delrene Dial on January 23, 1966 in Decatur, IL. Gary was very proud of his 46 years working for Caterpillar Tractor Co., with his most recent time spent in logistics management. Gary enjoyed fishing and helping in various construction activities. He built 2 homes for his family, and as a member of 1st Church of the Nazarene, spent many hours helping in the construction of the church building on Hickory Point Road. He is survived by his wife of 49 years: Delrene; 2 sons: Todd Eric (Christina) Berg, of Kentucky, and Joshua Berg, of Decatur; 1 brother: Tim (Peggy) Berg, of Decatur; 4 grandsons: Zachary Scaggs, Tyler Smith, Hunter Berg, and Wyatt Berg; and 3 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter: Tracey Scaggs. "
