Gaila Rae Barcus, 68, of Decatur, IL, formerly of Hammond, IL, died April 4, 2012, at McKinley Court, Decatur, IL. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M., Saturday, April 7, 2012, at Brintlinger and Earl Cerro Gordo Funeral Home, Cerro Gordo, IL, with visitation one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Hammond Cemetery, Hammond, IL. Memorials may be made to Hammond United Methodist Church in Hammond, IL. Gaila was born January 2, 1944, in Springfield, IL, the daughter of Eddie and Goldie (Patton) Shinneman. She married James Gayle Barcus on September 4, 1966 in Hammond, IL. He preceded her in death on July 23, 2010. Gaila was a member of the Hammond United Methodist Church, Hammond, IL. She worked for many years as the Office Manager at Natural Gas Pipeline Co. of America. She also farmed, liked to go to auctions, and loved spoiling her nieces and nephews. Gaila served on the Piatt County Board for several years. She is survived by her brother Joe Bateman and wife Meda of Hendersonville, TN; nieces Kristy Sams and husband Jeff of Decatur, IL, Michelle Kraker and husband Rob of Chicago, IL; nephews Daniel Bateman and Judah Bateman, both of Hendersonville, TN. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. "
