Franklin Delano Ashby folded his earthly tent and went to his Heavenly mansion on Thursday, July 2nd, 2015. Visitation will be Sunday, July 5th at Resurrection Life Church from 3-6 p.m. A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. at the church. Burial will be on Monday July 6th, in Westlawn Cemetery, Madisonville, KY, after a memorial service for family and friends in Southern Indiana and Kentucky. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, is assisting the family with the arrangements. Frank was born to Wilson and Essie Mae Ashby on June 2, 1933. He married G. Adeline Williams on June 2, 1951. Together they had three daughters - Becky Nalley Chapman (Jerry), Debbie Arbogast (Stanley), Cindy Knight Holliday (Doc) and one son, Daniel Ashby (Tiffany). His grandchildren are: Tim Nalley (Holly), Matt Nalley (Kara), Josh Knight (Christy), Jeremy Knight (Jessica), Anthony Holliday (Keisha), Zak Ashby and Alexis Ashby. Frank has nine great grandchildren: Lana and Ashley, Skyler, Summer and Drake, Isaiah, Luke, Jaq, and Trae. Frank leaves behind one sister, Jane Huddleston (Jim), three brothers-in-law, Bob Williams (Bev), Henry Williams (Brenda), and John McAfee (Diane), and a host of nieces and nephews. Frank was the assistant pastor at Bethel Tabernacle in Evansville, IN before moving to Decatur in 1957. He worked for Robert Barclay. In 1966, he moved to Charlestown, IN and managed a Western Auto store for ten years. While in Charlestown, he made great friendships and wonderful memories with the folks at the First Assembly of God Church in New Albany, IN. Frank returned to Decatur in 1976 and worked for Rogers Supply Co. He was dedicated to the many customers he served in Central IL. Frank retired in 1995. Frank loved the Lord, singing and playing his guitar, fishing, cooking and being with his family. He was a generous giver and was always sharing what he had with others. Franklin means "free man". He always walked to the tune of his own drum and now he is truly a free man. The family would like to thank the 4th floor staff at St. Mary's Hospital and those who attended him in ICU. To Dr. Kola, Dr. Vaughn, Dr. Raqeem, Dr. Modi and Dr. Ranger, our heartfelt thanks for your care, concern, and compassion for Dad and the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to missionaries, Darryl and Stephanie Fast, P.O. Box 6081, Aloha, Oregon, 97007 or National Coalition for Patriots, www.NationalCFP.org. "
