Frank Boyd

Frank E. Boyd, 88, of La Place, passed away Friday, July 13, 2018 at Decatur Memorial Hospital.Funeral services will be 10:30 AM, Wednesday, July 18 at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur. Visitation will be 5:00 – 7:00 PM, Tuesday, July 17 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Point Pleasant Cemetery, Long Creek. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Frank’s honor may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.Frank was born December 6, 1929 in Urbana, IL, the son of John and Helen (Schmidt) Boyd. He married Ruth Clarkson on October 28, 1956 in Cerro Gordo. Frank proudly served our country in the US Army. He retired from Quantum – USI division in Tuscola.He was a member of the Central Illinois Vintage Car Club and was the proud owner of a 1954 Studebaker and 1930 Chevrolet Sedan. Frank enjoyed NASCAR, especially Richard Petty and liked ballroom dancing, woodworking, camping and traveling.Frank is survived by his wife of 61 years, Ruth Boyd; daughters, Annette Boyd and friend Doug Barrett, Yvonne Boyd, Reneé Beebe and husband Rick; grandson, Bradley Beebe; sister-in-law, Jean Boyd Sherman; three nieces and three nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Robert; and one niece.
