Frances Vaniman Livasy, of Decatur, died December 1, 2014, at Decatur Memorial Hospital. Private family services will be held at Westminster Presbyterian Church, Decatur, IL. Brintllinger and Earl Funeral Homes is in charge of arrangements. Fran was born in Virden, Illinois, on August 26, 1926, to Ruth (Organ) and Frank Snell Vaniman. Fran graduated from Springfield High School and attended Blackburn College. On October 29, 1949, she married Ray G. Livasy in Peoria, Illinois. Their marriage lasted 65 years and produced 2 sons, 5 grandchildren, and one great grandson. Fran was a homemaker who enjoyed golfing, playing bridge, keeping track of Ray, spending time with friends and family, and being involved in her community. She was a member of the Junior Service League and President of the Civic Newcomers Club in Champaign, and served on the Decatur YWCA board of directors and was a long term member of PEO Chapter GR. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. She will be greatly missed by her family: sons, Mark (Vicki) Livasy of Decatur and Jim (Melissa) Livasy of Forsyth; grandchildren: Josh Livasy of Chattanooga, TN, Matt (Rachael) Livasy of Maryland Heights, MO, Erin (Jake) Dalton of White Heath, Nick and John Livasy of Forsyth, great grandson Charlie Livasy, nieces and nephews, and friends. Fran is preceded in death by her husband Ray, her parents, sister Helen Beard and brother, Harold Vaniman. Family thanks all of the friends and health care professionals at Hickory Point Christian Village and Decatur Memorial Hospital that helped keep mom comfortable. Memorial donations are welcomed to the Livasy Family Education Scholarship Fund in care of the Community Foundation of Macon County. "
