Floyd “Bud” Blair, 93, of Oakley, IL, passed away Wednesday, August 30, 2017, at his residence.Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 5, 2017, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, with visitation 5 to 7 p.m., Monday, September 4, 2017, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur. Burial will be in Cerro Gordo Cemetery, Cerro Gordo, IL, with military rites conducted by the Macon County Honor Guard.Memorials may be made to The Brethren Church of Cerro Gordo.Floyd was born June 1, 1924 in Decatur, IL, the son of Edward and Dorothy Viola (Cook) Blair. He married Dorothy Harrison on April 21, 1946 in Decatur, IL. She preceded him in death on July 14, 2016.Floyd was a member of The Brethren Church of Cerro Gordo and served as Deacon. He retired from AE Staley after many years of service, was a proficient builder, and operated his own sawmill. Floyd was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving on the USS Eberle and was a member of Cerro Gordo American Legion Post #117. He loved being with his children and grandchildren, enjoyed all the neighborhood kids, fishing, mushroom hunting, gardening, and loved animals.He is survived by his children Larry (Ethel) Blair of Decatur, Carolyn Bell of Champaign, Kenneth Dean Blair of Oakley, David Russell Blair of Decatur, and Breanna Blair, who was also his special caregiver; 8 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; brother Lee (Patricia) Blair of Decatur; and his dog Brutus.He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Dorothy, one brother and two sisters.
