Florence E. (Metzger) Pinkley, 87, of Decatur, IL, went to be with her heavenly Father at 9:05 A.M., on Wednesday, December 9, 2009, Fair Havens Christian Home, Decatur, IL.Funeral services celebrating her life will be 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, December 15, 2009, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, with visitation 5 to 8 P.M., Monday, December 14, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Decatur, IL. The services are to be delivered by her grandsons, Rev. Wesley Pinkley, Jr. and Pastor Dale W. Pinkley, Jr. Memorials may be made to Riverside Baptist Church or Fair Havens Christian Home. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home are handling the arrangements.Florence was born June 14, 1922, in Boonville, Indiana, the daughter of Albert and Alice (Bullock) Metzger. She married Raymond E. Pinkley on July 6, 1940. He preceded her in death.Florence was a graduate of Moody Bible Institute and a member of Riverside Baptist Church where she served many years as a Sunday School teacher. Florence served as the first chairman of Decatur Christian Womens Club and later became an area representative. She led home Bible Studies for many years. She also served as P.T.A. President of South Shores School and later with the Decatur Council of P.T.A.s. She was a homemaker and retired beautician, having owned Florences Beauty Shop.She is survived by her children W. Raymond Pinkley and wife Bonnie of Port Orange, FL, Dale W. Pinkley and wife Carol of Gobles, MI, Janice M. Furr and husband Garry of Indian Trail, NC; 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by Raymond, her husband of 65 years, her parents, and sister, Louise Frank of Ocala, FL.Absent from the body, present with the LordCondolences may be left to the family at www.brintlingerandearl.com.
