Florence Ethel (Johansen) Boggs of Decatur passed away on September 13, 2019 following a stroke at the age of 97 in Boulder, Colorado. Florence Boggs was born in Decatur, Illinois on September 8, 1922, the daughter of Oscar and Margaret (Morgan) Johansen. She married Bernard B Boggs on June 1, 1947, he preceded her in death. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by husband Billy G McClimans (d.1945), her stepmother, Ruth (Anderson) Johansen; 2 sons; David (Karen) Boggs and Jeffrey Boggs. She was a graduate of Stephen Decatur High school. During WWII, Florence worked as a telephone operator in Decatur and San Diego; she later was a secretary at the YMCA and worked as a legal secretary for Evans & Fuson law offices. Florence was an active member of Grace United Methodist church and enjoyed working at their Economy Shop for many years. Surviving are her daughters; Judy Miller of Appleton, WI; MaryLou (David) Oppenheimer of Boulder, CO. She was the proud grandmother of Eric (Molly) Linn-Miller, Kristen (Cody) Reynolds, Jason (Katharine) Oppenheimer, and Dana (Mike) Chambers. She loved the many wonderful stories about her great-grandchildren; Jonah, Owen, Greyson, Sydney, and Russell. She cared deeply for her 2 nephews and niece; Scott, Jim and Betty Ann Lucas. Florence loved her family and socializing with her many friends. She loved knitting, quilting, playing bridge, watching sports on TV, reading mysteries, and completing crosswords. In keeping with the wishes of Florence, no funeral/visitation is planned. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Memorials: donor’s choice. "
