Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, November 3, 2009, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, with visitation from 9:30 - 11:00 A.M., prior to service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Ridge Cemetery, Maroa, IL. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL will be handling the arrangements.Memorials may be made to:Fern was born September 12, 1929, in Paris, IL, the daughter of Atwill and Alda (Sims) Augustus. She married Wendell Walter Hastings on May 3, 1956 in Paris, IL. Fern enjoyed baking, cooking, gardening and especially enjoyed being with her grandkids.She is survived by her daughter Shirley Ann Carter of Maroa, IL; son Larry Wayne Hastings and wife Barb of Maroa, IL; grandchildren Ann Hamm and husband Delbert of Maroa, IL, Josh Hastings of Arizona, Lisa Miesner of Lincoln, IL, Andrew Hastings and Clayton Hastings, both of Maroa, IL; 6 great grandchildren; brothers Phillip Augustus of Ridgefarm, IL, Raymond Augustus of Paris, IL; sisters Ruth Porter of Oakley, IL, Alberta Nay of Kansas, IL.She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Rosalie, sons Richard and Walter.Condolences may be left to the family at www.brintlingerandearl.com.
