Everett Joe Blazer, 65, of Decatur, IL, went to be with the Lord at 7:46 A.M., Tuesday, September 15, 2009, at Decatur Memorial Hospital.Visitation will be 5 to 8 P.M., Sunday, September 20, 2009, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL. Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M., Monday, September 21, 2009, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL. Burial will be in Camp Butler National Cemetery, Riverton, IL. Memorials may be made to the Gift of Hope or donors choice.Joe was born December 10, 1943, in Decatur, IL, the son of Albert C. and Katie (Doan) Blazer. He married Pamela Joy Hawthorne on August 31, 1984 in Decatur, IL. Joe was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church. He worked at Caterpillar, Inc. for 33 years, retiring in 1996, and then worked part-time at Lowes. Joe was a U.S. Marine Corp veteran. He enjoyed fishing, loved to watch his grandsons play basketball; was an avid fan of sprint car racing, watching college ball and doing yard work. He was a member of the American Legion Post # 105.He is survived by his wife Pam of Decatur, IL; children Kurtis R. Blazer and fiancee Carla of Decatur, IL, Gena G. Carter and husband Gordon of Ramsey, IL, Crysti D. Hicks of Ramsey, IL, Lisa D. Dennis and fiance Lewis Cook of Decatur, IL; grandchildren Adam J. Carter , Andy L. Carter, Stevie A. Coates, Bailee J. Coates, Marty M. Coates, all of Ramsey, IL; brother A.
