Everett John Bauman, 89, of Warrensburg, IL, passed away at 9:00 a.m. Sunday, November 6, 2011 in his residence. Funeral services will be 12:00 p.m. Noon, Tuesday, November 8, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, with visitation two hours prior to service time, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Illini Cemetery, Warrensburg, IL. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, is assisting the family with the arrangements. Memorials may be made to: Barclay Public Library, Warrensburg, IL. Everett was born December 4, 1921, in Warrensburg, the son of Russell Phillip and Bertha (Culp) Bauman. He married Imogene "Imy" Eckiss on June 26, 1945. She preceded him in death on November 29, 1992. Everett served his country as a Navigator with the U.S. Air Force during WWII, and was a prisoner of war. After the war, Everett returned to the Warrensburg area, where he farmed for 66 years. Besides being a dedicated farmer, he was an accomplished woodworker. Everett was known as a very kind man and an icon of the community. Everett is survived by his brother Roy G. Bauman of Sullivan, IL; three nieces Karen Shannon Pauli of Peoria, IL, Tamara Bauman Lentz and Teresa Bauman Betzler both of Sullivan, IL; two nephews Michael Bauman of Tower Hill, IL and Larry Bauman of Urbana, IL; cousins raised as his own Donald Culp of Fort Madison, IA, Micheal Culp of Houston, TX, Gary Culp of Moweaqua, IL, and Carol Culp Josserand of Destin, FL. Everett was preceded in death by his parents, wife, sister Mildred L. Yeck, and cousin Dennis Culp. "
