Evelyn Shirley, 92 of Longwood, Florida, went to be with Jesus at 1:22 a.m. Tuesday, January 17, 2017. She was surrounded by her children at her home in Florida.Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 4 at Brintlinger & Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL. Visitation will be from Noon – 1:00 pm Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in North Fork Cemetery in Decatur, IL., immediately following the service. Flower arrangements will be accepted at Brintlinger & Earl Funeral Home.Mrs. Shirley was born on May 18, 1924 in Louisville, KY, the daughter of Elzie and Aleen (Hilliard) Smith. She was a wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother and great friend to all she knew. She worked for Borg-Warner, Marvel Schebler Division in Decatur, IL for 38 years. She was very patriotic and never met a stranger. She loved Jesus and loved her family. Evelyn married Boyd Shirley in 1943. He died on July 9, 1991.She is survived by her son, Kelly Shirley of Winter Park, FL, daughter, Karen (Shirley) Buck and her husband Steve Buck of Longwood, FL and her son, Kurt Shirley of Osteen, FL.; her grandchildren Kristin (Shirley) Mizo and her husband Charlie Mizo, Ryan Shirley and his wife Lauren, Joshua Shirley and his fiancée Lisa, four nieces (Carol Woods, Sandy Gagel, Marilyn Wells, Candy Hoyland) and three nephews (David Shirley, Terry Smith, Paul Smith).She was proceeded in death by her parents, one brother (Paul Smith), and husband (Boyd Shirley).
