Evelyn Mauck

Evelyn J. Mauck, 91, of Hammond, IL, passed away at 9:20 p.m. Thursday, July 4, 2013, at The Arthur Home, Arthur, IL. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, July 8, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, with visitation from 12:30 p.m. until service time, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Macon County Memorial Park, Harristown, IL. Memorials may be made to: United Church of Atwood. Evelyn was born September 16, 1921, in Boody, IL, the daughter of Melvin R. and Alma F. (Siehr) Smith. She married John Ryder in 1945; he preceded her in death in June 1986. She later married Frank Mauck on February 21, 1989 in Paducah, Kentucky; he preceded her in death on June 8, 2010. Evelyn was a member of United Church of Atwood. She previously had worked as a clerk at Goldblatt's, in housekeeping at St. Mary's Hospital, and then later as a clerk at the Ben Franklin stores. Evelyn enjoyed gardening and had beautiful flower gardens for many years. Evelyn also was an avid bowler. Surviving are her son: Terry Ryder of Hammond, IL; stepdaughters: Judy (Lyle) Sentel of Arthur, IL and Nancy (George) Pike of Champaign, IL; and one sister: Dorothy Sloan of Shelbyville, IL. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, husbands: John and Frank, one daughter: Mary Catherine Ryder, and two sisters: Pauline Tapscott and Betty Reed. "
