She graduated from Decatur High School in 1941. She married our dad John T. Curry of Atwood, IL. They were married in San Diego, CA on June 20, 1942 and were able to celebrate 60 years of marriage together.Mom was a homemaker most of her life, with the Lord and her family as the most important things in her life. She loved to travel with her husband, and over the years they saw most of US, Hawaii (twice), Alaska, Mexico, The Holy Lands, Egypt, Rome and Canada. She liked to fish, take walks, shop, go out for lunch and take rides in the rain. She also loved to play bunco, cards and games with her children, grandchildren or friends. She was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church. She was a court baliff (for a short time), belonged to the ladies DAV and Marine Corp. League, and used to sing in a church choir.Mom accepted Christ as her personal savior as a very young girl, and we are happy to see her claim her just reward in heaven. Mom leaves not to mourn, but to cherish fond memories, three daughters Sharon (husband Jerry) Reuther of Fort Madison, IA; Jeanette (husband Paul) Woolley and Brenda (husband Randy) Carbonneau all of Decatur, IL and one son John L. Curry (wife Judi) of Long Creek, IL. Also, beloved grandchildren, Grant, Shelly, Matthew, Tahnee, April and Mark; beloved great-grandchildren Kali, Chad and Briana, Titus and Anna, and a baby due in August. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, her husband John, and daughter Robin. We would like to thank Heritage Manor for all the special and loving care they gave our Mom over the years.Condolences may be left to the family at www.brintlingerandearl.com.
