Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M., Monday, July 12, 2010, at St. Johns Lutheran Church, with visitation one hour prior to service time at the church. Burial will be in St. Johns Lutheran Cemetery, Decatur IL. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, will be handling the arrangements.Memorials may be made to Lutheran School Association.Eunice Emma Rock nee Brauer was born on January 9, 1925 and raised in Altamont, IL. She studied nursing at the Lutheran Hospital in St. Louis, MO, where she met Bob during his vicarage at St. Luke Lutheran Church. Eunice married Pastor Robert Bob Leslie Rock on May 5, 1946. She was active in Cub Scouts, PTA, the Lutheran Womens Missionary League, Bible Classes, Prayer Groups and teaching Sunday School. Her hobbies included sewing and needlework, crossword puzzles, gardening, music and being a sports fan (the St. Louis Cardinals and Chicago Bulls, in particular).Eunice had many special qualities. She had a nurturing and loving personality that included a good sense of humor. Her children and family were her focus throughout her life. She especially enjoyed having fun with her grandchildren, using her creative flair to amuse and entertain them. Many thought of her as the quintessential Pastors wife because she was helpful, kind and gracious to everyone.She is survived by four sons: Robert Rock, Jr. and wife Marlene of Valparaiso, IN, Dennis Rock and wife Karen of Lincoln, NE, Timothy Rock and wife Jeannette of Tampa, FL, David Rock and wife Kim of Saline MI; three daughters Linda Rock and husband Jeffery White of Elgin, IL, Jane Mortensen and husband Lyle of Maywood, IL, Nancy Adkins and husband Jeffrey of Lebanon, MO; ten grandchildren; three great grandchildren; sister Marian (Darwood) Kesselmayer of Pekin, IL; brothers Donald (Mary) Brauer of Lockport, IL, Kenneth (Charlotte) Brauer of Altamont, IL; brothers-in-law Glenn Buzzard of Milwaukee, WI, Alten Grandt of Farmington, IL, Harold Rock of Franklin, WI.She was preceded in death by her husband Bob, parents Arthur and Cordula, grandson Nathan Rock, sisters Mildred Buzzard and Ruth Grandt. "
