Ethel L. Tuttle (Ryder), 88, of Cerro Gordo, passed away peacefully on May 21, 2024 surrounded by her family.
Funeral service will be 11:00 AM, Friday, May 24, 2024 at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur. Visitation will be 10:00 – 11:00 AM, Friday at the funeral home in Decatur. Burial will be in Cerro Gordo Cemetery.
Ethel was born January 12, 1936 in Decatur, the daughter of Orrall and Pauline (Mosser) Ryder. She married Richard D. Tuttle on December 7, 1955.
Ethel was a loving mother and grandmother. Her favorite thing is to be surrounded by her loving family and to play with all her great grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by all. She was a member of Oakley Brick Church.
Surviving are her husband of 68 years, Richard; daughter, Pamela (Gene) Dugan of Decatur; sons: Richard Tuttle of Cerro Gordo, William (Chris) Tuttle of Dalton City, and Rocky (Kim) VanHoutan of Clarksville, TN; grandchildren: Gerald (Denise) Dugan of Monticello, Matthew (Karen) Dugan of Decatur, Erica Tuttle of Kansas City, MO, Michael (Morgan) Tuttle of Cerro Gordo, Jenna (Matt) Hall of Cookeville, TN, Kindra (Donnie) Beiler of Mt. Zion, Kelsey (Brad) Held of Grove City, OH, and Kortney (Austin) Clark of Mt. Zion; 23 great-grandchildren; brother, Orville (Nancy) Ryder of Mt. Zion; sister, Shirley Powell of Longton, KS; and very special friend, Lynne (CarL) Proctor.
Ethel was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Richard “Red” Ryder and brother-in-law, Dave Powell.
Ethel’s family wishes to extend a special thank-you to the nurses and staff of Transitions Hospice, especially Leah Durbin, for her loving care over the past few days.
