Esther Spaulding

Prairie Ave., Decatur, IL 62523.Esther was born October 23, 1916, in Mt. Pulaski, IL, the daughter of Michael Adam and Elizabeth Bertha (Richter) Volle. She married Vern Alton Spaulding on August 3, 1947 in Mt. Pulaski, IL. He preceded her in death on September 4, 1981.Esther was a 1934 Mt. Pulaski High School graduate and a 1936 graduate of Illinois State University. She began her teaching career in Hudson, IL and later taught in Atlanta and Decatur. She operated the Purity Baking Company Credit Union from her own home for many years. Esther was an avid gardener.She is survived by her children Karen Sue Cramer and husband LeRoy of Decatur, IL, Robert Alton Spaulding and wife Valerie of Bloomington, IL; grandchildren Susanne Mayfield and husband Jerry, Douglas Smith and wife Kellie, Eric Spaulding, Brice Spaulding, Heather Rowe and husband Jeff; 9 great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Vern, 2 sisters and 1 brother.Condolences may be left to the family at www.brintlingerandearl.com "
