A caring wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Jeane was born June 30, 1927 on the Chambers farm south of Naples, IL. The daughter of Oliver and Margaret Vannier Chambers, she graduated from Bluffs High School and attended MacMurray College for two years. While working at the Decatur Recreation Center in 1944, she met Paul Robert Moser on a blind date. She and Bob were married on June 28, 1947, at St. James Catholic Church in Decatur, IL. During their marriage, Jeane and Bob were charter members of Holy Family Church; with their son, Bobby, being a member of the first graduating class of Holy Family School. Bob and Jeane provided the first uniforms for the Holy Family Basketball Team.
She and Bob had 5 children. She enjoyed all the years of her kids and grandkids riding and showing their Pony of America ponies throughout the United States, as well as their theatre performances. Although Jeane didn’t ride, she took such an active role during the horse shows and throughout the years that she was inducted into the Illinois Pony of America Hall of Fame in 2013 for all her continued hard work for the club. In later years, she enjoyed the activities of her 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Bob and Jeane were well known at all the sporting events for their kids, grandkids and great grandkids that they often had reserved seating at events at Holy Family, Stephen Decatur, Mt. Zion and Meridian Schools for all the events.
Jeane spent many years running the Moser household and maintaining the garden, but she also found time to have jobs outside the farm occasionally. Most recently, she worked at the Elwin Antique Mall. With help from her family and friends, Jeane continued to live on the family farm until 2 years ago. The family wishes to extend a special thank-you to Jeane’s many friends, but especially Andrea Rice for all of her love and care for Jeane.
During her life, Jeane kept a detailed and complete list of important information for people in her life. She never forgot to acknowledge holidays, birthdays, etc., for those people, with a card and handwritten letter for over 70 years.
Jeane leaves behind her children: Kaye (Carl) Norlin of LaSalle, Dick Moser of Macon, Pam (Phill) Glosser of Decatur and Dan (Jackie) Moser of Decatur; daughter-in-law, Kay Moser, widow of Robert William Moser; grandchildren: Travis (Malea) Moser, Leslie (Jevon) Moser-Dennis, Zachary Norlin, Megan Norlin, Wyatt Moser, Cody (Whitney) Moser, Ryan Glosser, Logan Glosser, Morgan (Alex) Holste, Cole (Elise) Moser, and Hanna (Tom) Viera; great-grandchildren: Taylor, Lane, Olivea and Will Moser, Drake and Dell Dennis, Brody and Eli Kaecker, Eve and Quinn Moser, Matthew and Layla Glosser, Palmer, Summer and Briar Holste, and Finn and Liesl Moser.
