Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M., Monday, April 7, 2008, at Brintlinger & Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, with visitation 6 to 8 P.M., Sunday, April 6, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Decatur, IL.Memorials may be made to Sharon United Methodist Church.Esther was born May 30, 1909, in Decatur, IL, the daughter of Charles Edwin and Cassie (Herman) Witts. Her mother passed away when Esther was 4 years old, and she was raised by her father and his second wife, Pearl Edith (Hunter) Witts, the woman she dearly loved and knew as her mother. She married Claude W. Wilkinson on October 9, 1931 and he preceded her in death on December 11, 1965. She later married Morris M. Johnson on September 17, 1971 and he preceded her in death on December 14, 1988.Esther was a 70 year member of Trueblood Memorial E.U.B. Church, where she was involved in WSWS and taught Sunday School from the time she was 14 years old. Upon Truebloods closing in 2002, she became a member of Sharon United Methodist Church. Esther dearly loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and walked daily with him. She loved her family unconditionally and treasured times with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.She is survived by her daughter Janice Nadine Gulick and husband Richard of Decatur, IL; granddaughters Martha Leeper and husband Tom, Karyn Hortin and husband Mike, all of Decatur, IL; great grandchildren Jarred, Evan and Jenna Leeper, Addison and Dale Hortin.She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, and one brother, Charles E.
