Ernest L. "Ernie" Andricks, 83, of Decatur, IL, died 10:30 A.M., Monday, January 2, 2012, at Decatur Memorial Hospital, Decatur, IL. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M., Thursday, January 5, 2012, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Decatur, IL, with visitation 9:30 A.M. to 11:00 A.M., prior to service time at the church. Burial will be in Point Pleasant Cemetery, Long Creek, IL. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to St. John's Lutheran Church or the American Parkinson Disease Association. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL will be handling the arrangements. Ernie was born March 2, 1928, in Macon, IL, the son of Henry Clyde and Cora Opal (Severe) Andricks. He married Carol Artze on August 29, 1965 in Decatur, IL. Ernie was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. He retired from Caterpillar, Inc. in 1993. He was an avid bowler and Chicago Cubs fan. Ernie was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in the Korean War. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Carol of Decatur, IL; children David (Patty) Andricks of Decatur, IL, Candace (Andy) Ward of Stonington, IL, Tim (Tanya) Andricks of Decatur, IL; grandchildren Brett (Karla) Andricks, Taryn Andricks, Brockton Ward, Zachary Andricks, Abigail Andricks; great grandchildren Griffin and Karsyn Andricks; step grandchildren Drew Ward, Ryan Murphy, Katie Murphy; several nieces and nephews; sisters Beulah (Benny) Moore of East Alton, IL and Daisy Augustine of Decatur, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Leonard Andricks and sister Hilda Arthur. "
